Chinese patent documents are prime source of prior art. However, Chinese patent information is notoriously difficult to access and interpret, due to the language barrier and the differences in the patent systems.

We has been providing Chinese prior art search service to patent attorneys, IP managers and technical leaders of Fortune 500 companies since 1997. We focus on our strengths in searching and translating Chinese patent documents and non-patent literatures.

For Chinese patent search, we usually use following databases:

• SIPO database: mainly for classification search and key word search in abstract /title /claim /applicant /inventor name;
• IPEXL: for IPC and key word search in abstract /title /applicant /inventor; a supplemental database;
• CNPAT.

For Chinese non-patent literature searches, we usually use:

• CNKI;
• Wanfang Data;
• Zhongguo Zhiwang;
• And a few other supplemental databases such as NSTL, etc.

Usually we would perform 2 - 3 rounds of search to cover a wide scope.

After the search and review, a search report will be submitted for your review. In addition to the search report, we will also provide following deliverables:

• List of all relevant documents found in the search;
• English titles, abstracts of the relevant documents found in the search;
• PDF files of all the relevant documents;
